Kambuja Cambodian Restaurant Opening Soon
Derbyshire’s only Cambodian Restaurant will be opening soon in Buxton! Kambuja Cambodian Restaurant will be situated within The Portland Hotel on St. Johns Road. Kambuja serves traditional and modern Cambodian cuisine, with everything made fresh to order, from crispy rolls to sauces.
Cambodian cuisine, whilst distinct in itself, bears the influence of its Thai and Vietnamese neighbours, as well as a French colonial influence. Key ingredients include lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galanga, coconut milk and fresh herbs. Cambodian dishes seek to achieve a balance of taste and texture.
Kambuja will also offer an extensive vegan and vegetarian menu.
Here are a few examples of the creative Cambodian and Southeast Asian dishes on offer…
Crispy Khmer Rolls Crispy spring rolls filled with pork, onions, woods ear mushrooms, and glass noodles. Served with a Cambodian tuk trey dipping sauce with roasted peanuts
Kampot Beef Classic French Cambodian dish of sautéed beef in butter, garlic, green peppercorn, and Kampot black peppers with a splash of lemon.
Cambodian Vegan Green Curry House-made curry with rhizome roots, green chilis, lemongrass, onions, Asian squash, courgette, Enoki mushrooms and basil
Royal Amok Cambodia’s national dish of fish curry cooked in a banana leaf, with coconut milk, lemongrass paste, and kaffir lime leaves

Some really sad news everyone. Unfortunately at the very last minute, The Portland Hotel couldn’t come to major agreements, and we decided it was not going to work for us. We are quite saddened by the turn of events. However, we have fallen in love with Buxton and seeking a new venue. I will reach out to those who have booked with us.
