Simply Thai

Established in 2004, Simply Thai is a renowned Thai restaurant in Buxton that offers a very popular and inexpensive lunchtime menu, with sophisticated Thai cuisine available in the evenings.

You can always expect a very warm welcome when you step through the doors of this wonderful restaurant and you’ll be greeted with traditional Thai hospitality.  Simply Thai prides itself on offering the finest, authentic Thai food prepared from the very best ingredients including fresh herbs, spices, and exotic vegetables imported every week from growers in Thailand, whilst their meat and fish are sourced from leading local suppliers.

Many people believe Thai food to be incredibly spicy, but Simply Thai offers an extensive menu to suit all tastes. Gaeng Massaman Neau is one of our favourites; a deliciously mild and slightly sweet curry of beef, peanut, and potato. Another popular choice for us is Gai Pad Priew Waan; Thai-style battered chicken cooked in a homemade sweet and sour sauce with pineapples, onions, lychees, spring onions, tomatoes, and peppers. I do like a little Thai spice and often choose Moo Pad Prik Pao; which is stir-fried pork with Thai chili oil, garlic, peppers, onions, and sweet basil leaves.

You can choose from around 20 soups and starters to begin with along with a nice selection of desserts for after your meal – if you are not too full!  Whatever you choose, you can expect beautifully presented and authentic Thai food, generous portions, and exceptional service. 

You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to drinks too, Simply Thai has a terrific range of beers, wines, spirits, and cocktails to choose from but, if you do get the opportunity, then you really must try the Peang Thai Coffee from Buxton Coffee Roasters.
